Become test runner of our new course
On May 15th, the starting signal for the 15th ING Night Marathon Luxembourg was supposed to be given. As already announced, the event was unfortunately not allowed to take place. On May 15th, our new, completely redesigned course would have been released to the runners for the first time, too. Even though the event is not allowed to take place this year, we do not want to deprive you of the new course.
You have the opportunity to test our new ING Night Marathon Luxembourg course on site with the exclusive CHECK THE TRACK app between May 15th and July 15th, 2021.
You are probably asking yourself why you need the CHECK THE TRACK app to test our course. It is simple: the audio app guides you along the route. We give you insights into the course and tell you where we have changed what and why.
You have the choice between the 2 classic courses marathon and half marathon and 4 sections of CHECK THE TRACK.
* CHECK THE TRACK Marathon
The classic 42.195 kilometre course in one day. Discover all the novelties of the route, including our most desired wish: once around the MUDAM, the Museum of Contemporary Art, with a wonderful view of the old town.
* CHECK THE TRACK Half Marathon
The half marathon course (21.0975 kilometres) with many hotspots in the city centre in one day.
* CHECK THE TRACK Luxexpo The Box - Glacis
Discover the modern Quartier Kirchberg and enjoy the view of the Philharmonie before you reach the Glacis after 9.4 kilometres.
* CHECK THE TRACK Glacis - Place Winston Churchill
Try the 10.7-kilometre section of the course, which takes you over the Limpertsberg, through the hustle and bustle into the heart of the city and finishes your run through the residential quarter Quartier Belair to Place Winston Churchill.
* CHECK THE TRACK Place Winston Churchill - Gare
The longest section of the course, but with lots of greenery: many parks, along the Pétrusse and across the Quartier Gare to the main station, this route offers plenty of variety over 13.7 kilometres.
* CHECK THE TRACK Gare - Luxexpo The Box
Run 8.3 kilometres through the old town and its pub district. There are many new things to discover around the Fondation Pescatore. Let the MUDAM with its wonderful view of the old town convince you, before you cross the parks on the Kirchberg to reach your destination at Luxexpo The Box.

As a CHECK THE TRACK tester, you decide how long it takes you to complete your chosen run. CHECK THE TRACK has no official timing.
Yes, you have 6 options at your disposal and can register once for each track. This means that you can run a different part of the course every week during the four weeks.
Please note: If you have registered for several disciplines, you will receive a confirmation email for each discipline, i.e. a different booking number for each discipline. Before you want to start a discipline, you have to register in the app with the respective booking number!
You can find your results on the CHECK THE TRACK app. Your running time will be displayed once in the audio app after you have completed your test run. Please note: no results lists will be compiled and published.
It can always happen that you have to abandon a run. As CHECK THE TRACK is a non-competitive run, you can interrupt your chosen test route at any time between May 15th and July 15th, 2021, and start again from the beginning. However, once you have successfully completed your course, you will no longer be able to access it.
You can use the CHECK THE TRACK app up to and including July 15th, 2021, and be part of the CHECK THE TRACK team. After that, the audio app will be closed automatically. Once you have successfully completed your selected track, you will no longer be able to access it.
Instead of signposts and marshals, the CHECK THE TRACK app will guide you from start to finish. There are GPS checkpoints on the course that are automatically validated as you pass them. We will give you additional guidance via the audio function.

Yes, because the CHECK THE TRACK app is the official way to track your run. As well as recording your run and instantly recording your result, the app provides exclusive audio updates at regular intervals.
Tip: We recommend that you take a spare battery (power bank) with you if you have registered for the marathon or if you want to run several disciplines in one day!
Make sure mobile data is turned on and that you give the CHECK THE TRACK app permission to use your location in the phone settings. You will be asked by the audio app to enable location services during the setup process. If you are using iOS 14, make sure you allow precise location.
The audio feature tells you the route you are running. These audio cues prevent you from looking at your smartphone too often and potentially missing dangerous situations.
